We like

Here's a random list of stuff that we like/love that's either promoted the anti-Brexit/anti-nationalist cause, or is just helpful/hopefully of interest. It may develop out into something more organised as time goes on, let's see. With an honest attempt to avoid virtue-signalling ;).

In Limbo - Brexit Testimonies From Citizens Living In The UK - Elena Remigi's incredibly moving compendium of the real-life experiences of UK-based EU nationals, now isolated as a group unworthy of the same rights as other British and EU citizens, and the profound effects on their lives. (Buy currently from Amazon - Paperback & Kindle editions. Recommended reading for anyone needing to gain understanding of being at the sharp end of Brexit).

The 48% Pro-EU Facebook Group. National in scope, currently numbering over 60K members. A place for discussion/sharing of all things Brexit, including news about events and marches around the UK. And regular moans/laughs about the government.

Plan B - A  Facebook gathering of nearly 2.5K folks all sharing info and resources about their plans to escape the UK for a better existence elsewhere in the EU. We found this tremendously useful in long-shortlisting potential locations, as we always get rapid answers to those with experience of having made the move already. The lovely admins are very quick to pile in with useful reference, and there's a very useful shared resources info and data section which is regularly added to. Huzzah.

Scientists for EU - decidedly un-nerdy Facebook group of over 230K (!) who, having campaigned for EU membership in the referendum, fight to protect our knowledge economy and continue the fight for UK science, pro-science immigration policy and sharing collaborations and standards of quality with the EU.

The New European - does what it says on the tin. Pro-EU and commentary from Yasmin Alibhai Brown, Mitch Benn, Alistair Campbell, AC Grayling and Bonnie Greer all in one place? Yes please.

ALDE - Alliance for Liberals and Democrats in Europe; yes, they're pro-EU - but definitely recognise  its failings and campaign to reform it with an MO close to that of its original egalitarian vision:
"Only if we choose to address Europe’s flaws and reform it, the EU will again be a driving force for new jobs, security and prosperity."

Le titbits.

Guy Verhofstadt - YouTube video of The European Parliament's representative in Brexit negotiations and group leader of ALDE speaking to CNBC about how EU democracies have been established to protect citizen's rights, not to diminish them - especially in the wake of Brexit. Worth three minutes of your time.

Colin Firth opts for Italian passport  - Mr Darcy does a bunk for a pretty sound reason, in our view.

The brilliant Mark Steel nails it - YouTube of him with tongue characteristically in cheek: "The success of the Brexit negotiations show that we're finally getting our country back"

And some others...

ChoraChori - UK registered charity that rescues and rehabilitates Nepal’s displaced and trafficked children from India. 'ChoraChori is the Nepali word for children.

Médecins Sans Frontières - international charity delivering emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural or man-made disasters.
